How Our Tools Actually Work
Most SEO software blurs the line between live data and AI guesswork. We don't. Every tool in SEO Fragments wears a label so you know exactly what you're looking at — and we will never present AI reasoning as if it were a real measurement.
The SEO Fragments Honesty Pledge
- ✓Every tool is labeled with one of four data-source badges (below). The label is visible at the top of every tool page.
- ✓AI estimates are never sold as measurements. If a number is AI-reasoned (not measured), the results page shows a clear amber notice.
- ✓Real data is real. When we say "Live Data", the numbers come straight from external APIs (DataForSEO, Google PageSpeed Insights, YouTube Data API, etc.) in real time.
- ✓AI-written content is yours. When AI generates content for you, you own it, you edit it, you publish it. We don't resell it. We don't train on it.
- ✓If we can't honestly label a tool, it doesn't ship.
The Four Data Tiers
Live Data
Real-time data fetched from external APIs every time you run the tool. Numbers are real measurements.
Examples: Keyword Research (DataForSEO), Speed Optimize (Google PageSpeed Insights), Site Audit (live crawler), YouTube Comments (YouTube Data API).
Live Data + AI
Real API data combined with AI reasoning. The numbers are measured; the strategic recommendations on top are AI.
Examples: Keyword Clustering, PAA Harvester, Competitor Spy, EEAT Audit.
AI-Generated Content
AI writes original content for you. The output IS the product. Like working with a skilled copywriter — review, edit, fact-check, publish.
Examples: Article Generator, Medium Writer, LinkedIn Article Writer, all the parasite-SEO writers, FAQ Expander, Schema Generator, llms.txt Generator.
AI Expert Analysis
AI generates scores, strategies, and recommendations based on its training knowledge. These are educated estimates — like a senior SEO consultant's opinion — NOT live measurements.
Examples: Parasite Site Picker, Cluster Planner, Stacked Generator, AI Citation Tracker, GEO Score Auditor.
All tools in this tier display an explicit transparency notice above results.
What This Means for You
Live Data
The numbers are real. Use them to make ranking and budget decisions. Data quality is only as good as the underlying provider (DataForSEO, Google, etc.) — same as Ahrefs or Semrush.
Live Data + AI
Trust the numbers, treat the recommendations as expert suggestions to validate against your own judgment.
AI-Generated Content
You're getting a draft, not a finished piece. Always review, fact-check, edit to match your brand voice. You own the output — we do not store or reuse it.
AI Expert Analysis
Treat it like a senior SEO consultant's briefing. The frameworks are valuable; the specific scores are estimates. For ranking-impact decisions, cross-check with live data.
What We Won't Do
- ✗We will never claim AI estimates are real Ahrefs/Semrush data.
- ✗We will never show a fake "tracking" dashboard when no real tracking is happening.
- ✗We will never fabricate competitor rankings, backlink counts, or citation evidence.
- ✗We will never sell "guaranteed rankings" — SEO outcomes are never guaranteed by any honest provider.
- ✗We will never train AI models on your generated content or paste-ins. Your inputs are yours.
Recently Shipped
AI Citation Verifier — now LIVE. The first real-data tool in our AI Visibility category. Each run actually queries ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Perplexity in real time, captures their full responses, and reports verified brand mentions and citation URLs. No estimation. Costs about $0.015 per full run (3 prompts x 2 engines) at our wholesale API rates.
If the server isn't configured with the required API keys, the tool fail-shuts with a clear error and a link to add the keys — we will not silently fall back to estimation.
What We're Working On
A few of our AI Expert Analysis tools could become Live Data tools by wiring them to real APIs. We're actively working on:

When any of these ship, the badge changes and the transparency notice goes away. You'll know.
