What Is a Website SEO Checker?
A website SEO checker loads a real page the way a search engine does and tests the things that decide whether it can be found: can Google crawl it, is it allowed to be indexed, does it redirect cleanly, and do the title, description, headings and structured data say clearly what the page is about.
This checker runs more than 60 of the automated checks from our SEO Autopilot against any public URL, including site-wide files like robots.txt and your XML sitemap, a test of how your server answers a missing page, and a sample of the internal links on the page. Each result shows exactly what we found and how to fix it in plain English.
How to Check Your Website’s SEO
- Step 1
Enter a URL
Paste your homepage or any important page. Start with the pages that earn you money: home, product, pricing.
- Step 2
Run the check
We fetch the page, your robots.txt, sitemap and llms.txt, test redirects and a missing URL, and sample your links. It takes about 10–20 seconds.
- Step 3
Fix the issues
Issues are listed first. Click any one to see why it matters and the steps to fix it, then re-run the check to confirm.

Common SEO Problems This Finds
A leftover noindex tag from staging keeps the page out of Google
Fix: Remove the noindex meta tag or X-Robots-Tag header, then request indexing in Search Console.
Both www and non-www versions of the site load
Fix: Pick one and 301-redirect the other so ranking signals aren’t split.
Made-up URLs return 200 instead of 404 (soft 404s)
Fix: Make your not-found page return a real 404 status.
The sitemap lists URLs that redirect or no longer exist
Fix: Regenerate the sitemap from live, final URLs only.

Questions about the Website SEO Checker
Is this website SEO checker really free?
Yes. No account, no credit card. Each visitor can run up to 10 checks per hour.
Does it check my whole website?
It checks the page you enter in depth, plus site-wide settings like robots.txt, your sitemap, redirects and how your server handles missing pages. To crawl every page, use our Site Audit in the app.
Why is a check marked “not measured”?
Sometimes a file doesn’t respond or a test doesn’t apply to your page. We never count an unmeasured check as passed.
How is the score worked out?
Each check is weighted by how much it matters. Passes earn full points, warnings half. If something blocks indexing, the score is capped at 40, because nothing else matters until that’s fixed.
Can I check a competitor’s site?
Yes, any public URL. Comparing your results with a competitor’s is a quick way to spot gaps.
